From crazy sweaters to extremely odd secret Santa gifts, this group is overflowing with love and I could not be more thankful to be apart of it.
I honestly don't know what I ever did without these people.
When I joined BCM here at Carson-Newman, I finally understood what it meant to be apart of a family, other than my own.
Last night was our Christmas dinner and someone made a comment about us looking like the Duggar family. Ha!
Duggar part, I don't know about, but as for the family part, there isn't a better way to describe us.
Home is another word for a family.
Even though we are all away, we have and give everything that we would expect from our immediate homes.
I was reading in a magazine about this lady and her Korean culture and in it she talked some on what family meant for her.
She said, "In a Korean society we believe that a family is made up of all its family members: those who have been, those who are, and those who will be."
I love that. My favorite thing to do is find meaning in simple things and I find so much in that simple, short, and sweet definition of family.
It reminded me of exactly how BCM members act. The second I joined I was accepted, mattered, and loved.
I have seen old members come back and visit and everyone act like their sister or brother from out of state is in, or I have seen new people join and it's like a party because our family just got one person bigger.
It also makes me think of the way Christ accepts us.
He loves those who have been apart of Him, those who are apart of Him, and those will be apart of Him.
Not to mention, He even loves those who have zero intentions to ever be apart of Him.
insane!
We are completely accepted, even when we are so unacceptable.
We matter to Him more than He matters to us.
& we are loved by him beyond our comprehension.
"Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children."
-Eph. 5:1
Our love should be overflowing for everyone.
We should love like we are blind.
We are brothers and sisters in Christ and love is the greatest thing about family.
Don't let family stop with genealogy.
BCM taught me that.
Lord teach me how to love like you.
